About The Shepherd Standard

Welcome to my page! I'm Gabrielle Bolander the owner of "The Shepherd Standard". This name was inspired by my dog Zazu. I wouldn’t have found my passion for training if it wasn’t for her.

My love for training her, turned into wanting to help others. From 2020-2025 I worked at a small business. I took the opportunity to try new things and test new methods of teaching your pups. I’m now starting to do things on my own.

My goal here is to expand canine knowledge; to help you become a better handler for your pup, understand the importance of breed standards, health, nutrition and behavior. Hope to meet you soon!

Price List

Board and Train

Daily two 90 minute training sessions, Two 1 mile walk, yard time, field trips to stores and parks, tether time, crate rest periodically throughout the day. Private lesson 1.5 hours at pick up to help owner understand expectations and maintain training day of the pick up. Follow up lesson also included 2 weeks after pick up at the home. *$100 off second dog per week*

Loose leash walk in public settings resisting distractions

Sit stay with handler 30 feet away from the dog
Down stay for 30n min with handler 25+ feet away from dog
Down on verbal command
Come command while 30 feet away under distractions
Intro to place command

4 week

left and right turns in heeling
Finish command
In motion exercises
Change of pace while heeling
Into to “out of sight” stay
